I am Who/What I am Campaign
One of our most successful campaigns to date was our โI am who/what I amโ, campaign.
The idea behind it was for trans individuals (and some not trans), to hold a piece of paper up or submit a photo with the slogan โI am what I amโ written on it. We were absolutely blown away by the response and had a constant influx of images from a wide variety of fabulous people for nearly three months. The campaign will shortly be uploaded to this website and there will be all the photo submissions to have a look at. We wanted to say a quick thank-you to everyone who took the time to prepare an image and to send it to us!
The combined effort shows that, as a community, we can be united in one voice towards equality for all of us! Submissions for this campaign came from countries like the United Kingdom, Sweden, India, the United States, South America, Canada, Australia, Japan, Russia, Iran, and in fact right across the world.
We will be running more campaigns in the near future.
We are also looking for writers who can help us to raise the issues that need raising regarding the trans community. We are still a very oppressed minority across the world, with religious organisations and radical feminists alike trying to deny us basic rights. While these campaigns serve a purpose, we need to raise much more awareness across the world and of course, we welcome any help in doing that.
We are also looking for people to help out with moderation on our Facebook page, the submission of positive images and photos relating to the trans community and people who are familiar with the law in their country. Wipe Out Transphobia is an international project and we require as much help as you can spare.
Trans people are human beings, and we deserve to live with proper respect, dignity and rights.
